New Patio - or - how long does it *take* to have concrete placed??  After contractor #1 failed to submit the proper insurance and bond documents to the Village, we found contractor #2 who was already approved to work in the village.  The building permit was approved April 20, 2007.

The Plan -

Before Pictures - April 23, 2007

During - April 28, 2007.  Main 12' x 40' section dug with bobcat, but heavy rains delay further work.

During - May 4, 2007.   After repeated calls to contractor, he finally gets some gravel in.

May 5, 2007 - concrete placed. Sorry, no pictures.  5 Guys, 2 wheelbarrows and 11 cubic yards of concrete.  Took about 4 hours from start to finish.  Concrete truck drivers told me the contractor had to pay extra for Saturday pricing, plus $50/truck Saturday fee, plus time-and-a-half for waiting time.  Guess he should have put more folks on the job sooner - could have saved all those extras and made a little profit by placing concrete during the week.

May 7, 2007 - concrete after placement.  Note shed needs to be moved back onto the new concrete pad.

May 13, 2007 - Mothers Day and KDL-E birthday.  We moved some of the patio furniture on to the new concrete.  Notice the shed is *still* not on the pad.  Contractor not returning calls and voicemails.

May 18, 2007.  Gave up on contractor for moving shed.  Organized a crew from work to help roll it back onto the new concrete.   We even had beer left over.  Thanks to the CGL crowd that stopped by, could not have done this without ya!

In an ideal world, this should have taken three days to dig and place the concrete, and another hour to move the shed back onto the new pad.   At least the concrete is done.  Now we are moving forward with a landscaper to clean up the bobcat ruts in the yard.
