| Road Trip 2004 - links to images and words on the road to see Rush:
Colorado to Wyoming - Lakewood to ??? Cheyenne or Thermopolis or Cody. A big drive to get close to Yellowstone.
Lots of miles today, we drove from Morrison, CO to Pinedale, WY. The last 100 miles (from Rock Springs to Pinedale) we only saw 20 other cars, max.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wednesday June 30, 2004 We went back to Red Rocks after the show, to explore the arena and take some pictures. This was a fine sunny day after the rains of Tuesday, the heat building up. Made the climb to the top of the seats, there is a visitor's center at the back of the theater. Karen and I poked around inside for a bit, then Matt and Mike were up at the top. We headed down to the lower gift shop while Matt and Mike headed into the upper visitors center. When we met back at the parking lot, Mike asked, "Did you see the display?" "What display?" I replied. Turns out there was a cabinet filled with Rush memorabilia in the visitors center – the latest piece added was Neil's snare drum from the concert the night before. We had missed it, but Mike has lots of hi-res pictures to share. After leaving Red Rocks, we headed north to Pinedale WY. It was a long 465 miles, and we were all dragging and snippy with each other by the end of the day. Pinedale is a small town on the way to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Mike took Karen and I out for drinks at The Cowboy Bar, about 2 blocks from our hotel. We got mildly out of hand – 3 beers and 3 or 4 shots later. Mike bought a round of Long Island Iced Teas to end the night. Oi!! We staggered back to the Super 8 after midnight, thoroughly buzzed.
