Chicago to Nebraska - Night driving along I-80.  Not much to see, cornfields and flat lands.

We kept ahead of the rain for most of the night - Found the world's biggest Michael Jordan fan in Grinell Iowa.  He manages the Taco Bell / KFC store there.

RushTour 2004 – on the road to see Rush and the West.

Friday June 25, 2004 5pm

Wheaton, IL to Lincoln, NE.  Trip started out well enough, good weather and relatively good spirits.  Only one forgotten item in the first 4 minutes, a quick trip around the block for Mike to pick up his sunglasses and a stop for trip-starting pictures and then we are OFF!!   I-88 west, pick up I-80 and just keep grinding out the miles.   512 miles according to Mapquest, one fuel stop (where we drove for some 8 miles before finding the gas station!) and after a quick KFC dinner we were back on the road.  The manager of the KFC is the world's BIGGEST Michael Jordan fan – has autographed stuff, pined to travel to Chicago to see him play.  When he heard we were from Chicago, that's all he could gush about MJ.  Interesting….  I guess I know how other people see my fanaticism for Rush.  We pull into the Motel 8 in Lincoln at close to 1am.
